I enrolled with Active Training, Katikati in April 2005 with the ambition of achieving Computing and Business Administration Level 2. In the time I was there I achieved my credits and gained my National Certificate.
I am a solo parent with two children who decided to do some study while they where at school, so I could support my family in the future. I learnt more than Computing and Business Administration. My tutors where very friendly and helpful. I meet a variety of different people during my time there who became good friends.
I found employment for 11 months but was unfortunately made redundant in June 2006. I decided to continue studying at Active Training, Katikati to achieve my Level 3. The Receptionist position became vacant at head office in October 2006 I applied for the position and got the offer for the job. I have been working at Active Training for the past 9 months. The team is a great bunch of people to work with and I have learnt, and am still learning so much in the time I have been here.
Without my studying in 2005 I believe I would not be where I am today. I achieved NC and many other things as well. Training gave me confidence to move forward in life and support my family.

Not long ago my job description was Mother Solo Mother. Something had to change; I wanted more so I enrolled at Active Training to up skill myself before re-entering the workforce.
After two years at Active Training I gained my level three certificates in Business Administration and Computers. The qualifications, skills and confidence I achieved from Active Training have enabled me to assist my new husband, Grant to set up Land & Marine Surveying. I have stepped into the position of Director and Office Manager and am thriving in my new position.
My children are also proud of what their mother has achieved!
